Our last session with Constable Gordon

Today, was our final session with Constable Gordon.

We discussed booster seats, seat belts, how to enter and exit cars safely... and they were all given a new job - they are now your official seat belt police officers! So don't be surprised if your 5 year old reminds you about it!

Ammiel is our tallest person in the class, and as you can see from this height chart, he is still a fair way away from being tall enough to be out of a booster seat. A few more years to go at least.

Constable Gordon is going to organise for each class to have one of these height charts to put on display in our rooms, so we can all make sure that our kids are safe while travelling in cars.

Anabelle and Constable Gordon then role played two children pushing, shoving and yelling in the back seat of the car and we discussed how dangerous that is for the driver. Feel free to throw Constable Gordon's name in there if you ever need to...if you have siblings/children arguing in the back seat. It might be a good reminder :)

Next we got the new seat-belt police officers into uniform and these new recruits got to check out what it's really like inside a police car. The lights were flashing, the sirens blasting, and lots of unsual messages were called out over the loud speaker... our new recruits have some training to do!

Finally Constable Gordon showed us all his bells and whistles. His handcuffs, his pepper spray, etc. It was all VERY exciting!

A huge thank you to Constable Gordon for all the learning and fun we've had over the past 4 sessions, we promise to take our jobs seriously, and keep everyone safe around roads and cars!
