Our Writing Exchange with Fenwick School in Oamaru

At the beginning of the year I signed Room 6 up to complete a writing exchange with another class, in a different place in NZ. We were sent a kit, and got started on some pretty complex writing. The program was aimed at Year 4s and above, so our little guys did pretty well with the task!

We each wrote metaphors describing ourselves, and choose our best one. This was then published on to the back of one of the postcards that we were sent in the kit. When arranged alongside the other postcards, our writing makes a collective piece of writing, and on the other side a collective piece of art.

We also all contributed to a large poster that has lots of information about our class, our school and our learning.

All of this will get packaged up, and sent off to Sharon's class at Fenwick School in Oamaru.

She will in turn send us the work that her class has completed.

We can't wait to hear from them, and see what they think of our writing!

  1. Such a brilliant idea! My two girls are very excited about this, communicating with another school and finding out about what children in other schools get up to! Can't seem to see the photos though :-( might be my computer!
