The Day the Crayons Quit ~ Writing and Artwork

This week's writing has been centered around the wonderful, humorous and engaging Picture Book ~ The Day the Crayon's Quit.

If you haven't heard this story before, here's the link....

After reading the picture book, each of the children decided on which colour crayon they would decide to be, and wrote a letter to themselves expressing their displeasure with one thing or another!

The results were fantastic! Have a read of our wonderful authors below...

And pop in to see our art depicting our crayons, alongside our writing early next week, as they'll be up on display.

Author of the Week ~ Edward

Each week one of our fabulous writers will be published here on our classroom blog, in celebration of their hard work.

Flying over the city, beware! There is a dragon in the air with spikes on its tail, spikey claws and a tough tummy. It has scary eyes with lazers and a powerful horn and flappy wings.

This piece of writing was completed independently. We were focusing on adding description to our writing using specific adjectives, which Edward has done a wonderful job of. Keep up the great writing Edward!

Maths Week! Challenging our brains!

It's Maths Week ~ so during Maths time we will be challenging ourselves to complete a range of problems that will require perseverance, thinking 'outside the box', working alongside others and applying what we know.

Here is an Addition Game that challenges you to think of all of the different ways you can add numbers together to make another number.

Here is another challenging game, where you have to make all the rows and all the columns add up to the 'magic number'.
